The Conference gives the opportunity to the representatives of maritime community to meet again physically the experts, lecturers and instructors of maritime educational institutions. It is a great opportunity for all the participants to discuss topical issues of MET in the face of new challenges.
We hope that the IMLA28 Conference of the International Maritime Lecturers’ Association in Odessa will become an important milestone in the development of Maritime Education and Training in the world.
I am delighted to welcome you, on behalf of the IMarEST, to IMLA28.
We have worked with the National University «Odessa Maritime Academy» for many years and through multiple accreditations of their courses. It is impressive to see academic institutions demonstrating such commitment to their students in this way, by ensuring high standards and preparing them for the working world. This is an exciting time for the maritime industry and we expect to see shifts in the skills required in many different professions, forced by the need to adapt to changing climates and oceans as well as rapid developments in technology. Maritime education is more important than ever in underpinning the knowledge and skills needed to support these changes and IMLA28 will be a vital forum for new thought and discussion around how we can shape the future of the maritime sector through training and education.
Dear partners, colleagues and guests of the 28th International Maritime Lecturers’ Association Conference!

For many years in a row, the MTWTU cooperates with the National University «Odessa Maritime Academy». Me, personally, as a Goodwill Maritime Ambassador of the International Maritime Organization never miss a chance to join the event aimed at enhancing the education level of seafarers and promoting the maritime professions.
